Carla Whorton, AGNP, AAHP, CCRN, CNRN
Carla Whorton is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with a deep-rooted passion for Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. With over 46 years of healthcare experience—spanning lab technology, critical care nursing, and advanced nurse practitioner roles—Carla brings a wealth of knowledge to every patient encounter.
A Personal Journey to Holistic Care
Carla’s dedication to preventing and treating the “diseases of aging” is deeply personal. A breast cancer survivor, she has firsthand experience with how hormone imbalances, genetic polymorphisms, and under-recognized conditions like Lipedema can profoundly impact health. Her journey took on even greater urgency as she watched her daughter struggle with estrogen imbalance—both of them facing fibroids, endometriosis, and, in Carla’s case, breast cancer. Between the two of them, they experienced it all. Through research, she identified crucial factors such as MTHFR (Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase) mutations that shaped her approach to wellness. Now, she is committed to helping others address these root causes before serious disease takes hold, with a special focus on preventing these all-too-common issues in young women—conditions that are often easily diagnosed yet frequently overlooked.
Credentials & Advanced Training
Nurse Practitioner (NP): Licensed and practicing in Arizona.
A4M Certification: Specialized training in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine via the American Association of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Critical Care Expertise: 31 years in ICU settings (including open heart, stroke, rapid response), Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN), plus 14 years as a lab technician, giving her a strong foundation in diagnostics and lab interpretation.
Certified through the Cellular Medicine Association (CMA) involving Platelet Rich Plasma.
Ongoing Studies in Advanced Metabolic Endocrinology: Continually expanding her knowledge of the biophysical, metabolic pathways, epigenetics, and specialized testing (e.g., DUTCH Test, GI Mapping, Prenuvo Scans).
Focus on Root Cause & “Upstream” Medicine
Carla’s practice philosophy is “TEST -Don’t guess”. Rather than address symptoms in isolation, she investigates the underlying factors driving disease:
STRESS and MINDSET: Recognizing that mental and emotional health -including unresolved trauma—significantly impacts hormonal balance and disease risk.
Hormonal Health: Bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) to balance estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid hormones, and more.
Lipedema Care: Evaluating causes of inflammation and hormonal triggers; using GLP-1 therapies like Tirzepatide, evaluating for Ehlers' Danlos Syndrome, MCAS, and making referrals for surgical intervention if needed.
Metabolic & Integrative Medicine: Combining cutting-edge lab tests with lifestyle adjustments to optimize mitochondrial function, energy levels, sleep patterns, and overall vitality.
Dedicated to Patient Empowerment
From her personal battle with cancer to years spent caring for critically ill patients, Carla understands the urgency and hope that drive people to seek better solutions. Her goal is to prevent these diseases of aging. She believes in patient education and empowerment, encouraging individuals to take charge of their daily habits—sleep routines, morning sunlight exposure, stress management, and movement—to support balanced hormones and overall well-being.
